Positive Faculty Reviews!

Needless to say, the senior capstone course is a stressful enough event in itself. You put in (if you want to pass) a lot of work into a worthy project. However, it is still a surprise how nervous a student can be to present their work thus far to the Mass Comm faculty.

You go in, explain your project, and hope you get a thumbs up! As far as I can tell, that is what I got!

Despite stuttering through a couple slides and running into a technical difficulty, the faculty seemed pleased with my project and my progress thus far.

I am taking my experience in my review as not a chance to relax but -instead- a chance to challenge myself to wow them in the end.

Do I Smell Greek Lamb and Flaming Cake?!

Yes, indeed. Lamb seasoned with salt, pepper, oregano, olive oil, and bits of garlic stuffed in puts a wonderful smell in the air!

This past week, I flew into Kansas City for a job interview but was lucky enough to cook with a bunch of strangers!

My significant other's parents pride themselves in their culinary skills. They teach at a beautiful culinary center in Overland Park, Kansas.

Nick's mother, Beth, is English/Lebanese. His father, Mitch, is Greek.

Together, they create amazing dishes from recipes that have been passed down throughout their families.

Mitch and Beth Kelloff started the class off with some olives that had been soaking in a homemade mix. We each had a delicious glass of white wine.

This particular cooking class featured Lamb (as described above), chicken seasoned with lemon, salt, pepper, and oregano, and buttery, seasoned potatoes.

To complete the meal, the Kelloffs prepared a flaming cake. No, it wasn't spicy. It literally had flames on the top!

I Met The Love of My Life At PB & J Day

Image result for peanut butter and banana sandwich elvisJust kidding. However, I did obtain a delicious peanut butter and banana sandwich on whole wheat (the King would be so proud)! If that's not love, I don't want to know what it is. I even got laid! (The necklace, you pervert!)

While standing in line, I got the opportunity to speak with students I had not met before. PB & J Day is not only a day on which a student can receive a free (best flavor) sandwich but also meet new people who also have a love for PB & Jellies!

On this particular free-delicious-love-between-two-whole-wheat-bread-slices day, the hosts were giving away lays and information on how to successfully register for classes the following day.

This was a free and tasty lunch alternative as well as a cultural event!
